Overview

Stress Reduction Training (SRT) was founded to help relieve the pain and suffering of people experiencing emotional and/or physical discomfort and to bring an increased sense of peace and well being into their lives. Using various meditative and physical techniques as well as dialog and practice, each student has the opportunity to actually experience the benefits of this approach for themselves. The philosophy of SRT is consistent with the old saying:

Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day.
Teach a person to fish and you feed them for a lifetime.
Confucious (Circa 551 – 479 BC)

SRT programs provide sufficient background, training, and materials to empower graduates to continue the practices long after the program is completed. Participants learn new behavior patterns, different ways to relate to physical and/or emotional distress, and new ways of dealing with the rigors of an ever-changing work place and home life.

SRT programs are modeled after the Stress Reduction Programs taught by the Center For Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care and Society at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
